FIAT LAUNCH.
The Indian unit of the leading Italian car maker Fiat is all set to launch new version of its popular portfolio models – premium hatchback Punto and mid-size sedan Linea. The new editions of both Punto and Linea will be launched simultaneously at a single platform in the National Capital on January 3rd 2012.
The new variants of the 2012 Fiat Linea models will be carrying a number of cosmetic changes including a newly styled interior, improved fit and finish. Moreover, the exterior of these new cars will have a range of up gradations. However, the engine units of both Punto and Linea models will remain almost unchanged, with a possible improvement in power and fuel economy.

Despite being highly competitive in the Indian market, none of these two models have been as successful as expected before, reason being the weak sales and service network. It is to be mentioned here that Fiat sells its cars in the Indian market through the network of Tata Motors and uses Tata’s service centers for the after sales services of its cars.
However, the company is planning to give its India operations a new breath of life by opening new single brand sales outlets in the country in next few years. The first of such Fiat Only dealership is going to be inaugurated on January 7th 2012 in the National Capital.
