Japanese company Nissan and Indian Utility Vehicle king Ashok Leyland have worked in synergy and developed NV200 van. Rival Toyota is also bringing Innova facelift and Maruti is putting its best foot forward by launching Ertiga MPV in the Expo so it would be great to see MPVs raining this season. This Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) has done innumerable test on Indian roads before it will set the stage on fire in 2012 AutoExpo. The 7 seater MPV has been chosen as the New York taxi of future (from 2013) in USA, thus stepping in the boots of very famous Crown Victoria taxi range that are plying on roads of New York. Koenigsegg AGERA R in india by 2012..

Image
Koenigsegg Agera R  is a sports car showcased internationally for the first time at Geneva Motor show of 2011. With Bugatti Veyron already available to the Indian customers, this car is also expected to make an entry into Indian markets in a very near future. Koenigsegg Agera R will be the world's first super sports car coming with engine that runs on an environment friendly E85 bio fuel.   The Swedish car is successor of Agera which is also a similar sports car running on conventional fuels. Since bio-fuels have a lesser energy content, the car makers evolved a technology with increased fuel flow resulting in a perpetual run of engine, producing same levels as the petrol engines. This Swedish car derives its exceptional performance from revolutionary technologies specially adapted for the vehicle.   These include a triplex rear suspension, aerodynamic designing with drag coefficient between 0.33 & 0.37 and pre-impregnated carbon fibre/ kevlar body. The F-1 style tr...

Audi S6/S7/S8 INDIA.

Image
Think of Audi’s ‘S’ cars as the sportier cousins of the normal line-up with the S variant’s more powerful engines and slightly extroverted design details being the key differentiators here. India will get the entire S range that includes the S4, S5, S6, S7 and S8 in 2012.  The new S6 that was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show comes with a 414bhp, 4-litre twin-turbo V8. Performance will be entertaining, to say the least.  Another new addition to the S line is the S8. Marrying sports car performance to limo-like luxury, the S8 shares its engine with the S6, but power is an even higher 513bhp. Pricing is yet not known, but expect these S cars to cost considerably more than the current range-topping variants for each model. However, the S5 will be a cheaper option to the more powerful RS5. S6 will spearhead Audi’s S line’s entry into India. S8 is sports car and limo rolled into one. . Sportier petrol S7 will join diesel A7 sibling. Mini cooper to be in india soon....

Image
The epitome of retro cool, Mini is finally coming to India. Indian market dynamics might suggest small cars with premium price tags won’t work here but BMW-owned Mini thinks otherwise. The manufacturer sees a big opportunity in India and is even carrying out feasibility studies for local assembly at BMW’s Chennai plant, so prices will be far more affordable than VW’s fully imported Beetle. Mini will kickstart its Indian venture with the launch of the Cooper hatchback. The design is classic Mini and the retro interiors with the big dials look the part too. A four-seater only in name, minimal rear seat space makes this three-door hatchback best suited for two occupants.  The Cooper hatchback will be followed by the convertible and also the interesting Countryman crossover. All Minis will come with 1.6 petrol and diesel engines. BMW is going to launch a small car in the market for the Indian customers. If there’s any car that indicates elegant style, trendy looks, it’s the new...

VW XL1 concept headed for Expo ‘12

Image
Unlike the homogenous VW India line-up, the cars displayed by the Wolfsburg carmaker at the Expo are a mixed bag. The Beetle in its latest avatar is sure to grab some eyeballs. The car is easily recognisable from some distance, retains its predecessor’s charm and has a more powerful 1.4-litre 158bhp petrol engine. There’s a 138bhp 2.0-litre diesel on the cards as well. The now more elegant new Touareg will be launched at the Expo too. The German carmaker hasn’t had an SUV in its portfolio since it discontinued the earlier model so VW will be hoping it gets a good response to the new Touareg. Powering the SUV is a 3-litre V6 diesel developing 205bhp and VW could also bring a 3-litre petrol-electric hybrid. Driving you into the future will be the XL1 concept. Low-drag, teardrop-shaped body aside, what will definitely grab your attention is a claimed fuel consumption figure of an insane 111kpl! A two-cylinder 1.0-litre TDI motor developing 48bhp coupled with a 27bhp electric motor and...

NEW PORSCHE 911

Image
Known internally as the 991, the new 911 — the sixth truly independent model in an illustrious 48-year history — is set to make its world debut at next month’s Frankfurt motor. The new 911 will initially be sold in rear-wheel drive Carrera and Carrera S coupé guises. Cabriolet and four-wheel-drive variants will follow in 2012, and pave the way for a range-topping Turbo packing 523bhp in 2013. Developed under Porsche design boss Michael Mauer, the visual changes are subtle but effective enough to set the new car apart from its predecessor. The traditional round headlamps are set on the front of a wider, slightly higher front bumper. The lights have been made bigger and house more complex internal graphics than before, and are complemented by new LED daytime running lamps on the leading edge of a reshaped bumper. The rear is distinguished by new, thin LED tail-lamps. They sit underneath a prominent lip that forms the trailing edge of the engine lid and wrap further around the rear bump...
