UPCOMING BENZ B CLASS.......end of 2012



One of the most prestigious automobile manufacturers, Mercedes-Benz, has been the preferred choice of buyers when it comes to luxury cars. Characterised by sophistication, elegance and comfort, Mercedes-Benz cars are favoured by auto enthusiasts in spite of the high price tag. The German automotive manufacturer has unveiled a new generation concept of its upcoming Mercedes B-class models at the Frankfurt International Motor Show 2011.
 
The front wheel drive hatchback models based on the design of this concept car will be featuring undertones and sporty look reminiscent of multi-purpose vehicles. The latest generation of Mercedes-Benz B Class is expected to be sold initially in European markets by November 2011. However, the question looms whether it will be launched in the US market, as the manufacturer has ignored North America in the past. 
Despite emphasising on sophistication, Mercedes-Benz has also prioritised on fuel efficiency in this car. Moreover, roomy interiors are precisely designed, with its cabin featuring flexible vehicle concepts and comfort arrangements. In a nutshell, Mercedes-Benz B-Class is considerably more agile, efficient, luxurious and spacious.
Engine & Specifications of Mercedes-Benz B Class 
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz B-Class models will boast of petrol and diesel engines, with an option of choosing between manual and automatic transmissions mechanism. Mercedes-Benz B Class concept car has modern drive systems that use advanced technologies for maximising efficiency, delivering unmatched on-road experience, enhancing tractive power and improving upon sustainable emissions. 
Loaded with a third-generation Mercedes-Benz direct injection system in petrol version, Mercedes-Benz B-Class models will have peak power of 156 hp and torque of 250 Nm at 1250 rpm. On the other hand, the diesel versions will be assimilated with a common rail direct-injection engine that has a capacity to churn out 109 hp of power and has a torque of 300 Nm at 1600 rpm. The power-packed engine is complemented by the integration of the 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission. 
Performance of Mercedes-Benz B Class 
As the manufacturer is focussing upon performance, it has incorporated a unique underbody design and cooling air flow mechanism in the Mercedes-Benz B Class concept. Moreover, an electric oil pump has been installed to ensure start/stop capability in the vehicle. Furthermore, this efficient car boasts of the ability to shifts gear without any interruptions in tractive power. Owing to lower centre of gravity, new age four-link rear axle and electronic stability programme, its agility has also been enhanced manifolds.
Exterior, Interior & Safety Features of Mercedes-Benz B Class 
The recently unveiled Mercedes-Benz B Class Concept underscores the dynamic aspirations of the manufacturer. The vehicle 4359 mm long, 1786 mm wide and 1557 mm high; its height is 5 cm lower than that of its previous generation. Front design of the hatch exhibits sportiness, featuring a wide prominent grille along with headlamps that stretch at the sides. Exquisite two-piece tail-lights with horizontal offset meander as well as large tailgate with low loading sill define the rear of this hatchback concept. Aerodynamic character is evident in the sideline, where bonnet flows seamlessly into the A-pillar and roof line descends sleekly to the striking roof spoiler. 
Height of the seating arrangement has also been reduced considerably in this new generation concept. A typical Mercedes-Benz sports tourer hatchback saloon has ample space, with the elegantly structured cabin showcasing stylish details and precise workmanship. Three-dimensional trim, elegant cruciform nozzles, compact frame with galvanised finish, piano black front panel and colour display (TFT) are other notable interiors of B class models of Mercedes-Benz. 
To improve on aspects like on-road performance and handling, B-Class models will be featuring electromechanical steering with direct-steer capability. One of the highlighting safety arrangement in the car is radar-based collision warning system with adaptive brake assist for aversion of rear-end collisions. Moreover, it has a Radar-based collision prevention assist with adaptive brake assist, a new generation feature defining safety aspects of the hatchback segment.
