RENAULT PULSE

Renault Pulse
Renault, the French car manufacturer, is targeting the B and B+ segment of the Indian automobile market with its upcoming Renault Pulse. The car maker is being quite secretive about this model, though a few details about it have leaked. Reportedly, the car will be developed on the V-Platform, which is known for cars like Nissan Micra, Nissan Sunny and the upcoming Nissan Almera.
This car will be showcased first on 29th October 2011 at the India`s first premier F1event and then in the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi, and is expected to hit the roads in another three months, so prospective customers have to face a long wait. As a B+ segment hatchback, this car will be competing against proven players like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Fiat Polo and Hyundai i20.
Price competitiveness will be a key driver for this car; the Renault Pulse is expected to be one of the least priced cars in the car maker's Indian portfolio. The name of the finished product may change, and Renault will, reportedly, not use a name from its international line-up for this car.
Engine & Specifications of Renault Pulse
Facing tough competitors will be a task for the Renault Pulse, so engine capacity will be of utmost importance for the manufacturer. The petrol variant of the car is expected to be powered by a 1.2 L three cylinder engine. Seeing the paradigm shift of the Indian customers from petrol to diesel, the car maker is also expected to launch a diesel variant in the market. Therefore, customers should not be surprised by a diesel variant powered by a 1.5 L K9K engine, which was used in the Nissan Micra.
Performance of Renault Pulse
Renault is being quite tight-lipped about this car, so no specifications are available presently and speculating on its performance will be futile without any concrete specifications. However, if Renault wants to the car to compete with stellar performers like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Toyota Etios Liva, Ford Figo and Volkswagen Polo, it needs to focus upon the performance.
Interior, Exterior & Safety of Renault Pulse
It is expected to feature a tall boy design, a la Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which is one of the most common cars on Indian roads. The design was prepared at the Mumbai studio by Renault's in-house designers, who have catered to the demands of the Indian customers. Therefore, quality interiors with standard safety features, for the B+ segment, should be expected by all customers.
