RUMORS OF NEW FIAT LINEA IN INDIA.........

No doubt, the Fiat Linea is the most gorgeous looking car in the Indian market on sale today. Its heart melting curves, beautiful stance and a sultry Italian design definitely means ‘admiration guaranteed’. However, the current Linea was launched in 2007 and is getting a bit old, thanks to the transformation of the environment.

The car in the picture looks heavily inspired by Alfa Romeo, a luxury sports car marque under the Fiat umbrella. Apparently, this is how the future Fiat Linea will look. The 2013 Linea is speculated to be showcased at the upcoming 2012 Detroit Motor Show and might feature a Multiair(Fiat acronym for a turbopetrol with variable valve technology) engine. Going by the looks of it and the scheduled arrival into international markets as the 2013 model of the Linea, don’t expect this car to arrive into India any time soon.  If anything the 2013 Fiat Linea might arrive into India sometime in 2013 and not like the end of 2012, which is usually when the next year’s model arrives into international markets.

The rumormill was set churning 2–3 days ago with a supposed rendering of the 2013 Fiat Linea from a European magazine. According to the rendering, the 2013 Fiat Linea will drop its swooping lines and vivacious curves and adopt a more aggressive design like the Jaguar XF. However, a close look at the rendering reveals that the same design was seen on Dodge’s brand new midsize sedan allegedly called ‘Hornet.’

Linea lovers in India need not be alerted as the MY2012 Linea launches on the 3rd of January with feature add-ons and no changes to the body. Even if the next generation Linea is ready, India will not get it next year.

NEW CR-V

These are the first official images of Honda’s all-new CR-V. Honda had released the first official picture of the CR-V concept last summer, and was due to unveil the production car at next month's Los Angeles motor show. However, the latest images appeared without explanation on the Honda’s Japanese website at the weekend. The CR-V is based on an all-new platform. The most prominent changes are at the front, where the CR-V features a wraparound lower front bumper that is better integrated into the rest of the front fascia than on the current car. The three-bar horizontal front grille is also much more dominant than the current CR-V’s, with slimmed-down headlights flanking it on either side. Honda claims the front-end styling changes result in much improved aerodynamics over the current car. Sculpted bodywork features on the sides, which also get more pronounced side sills. The large alloy wheels featured on the concept have been exchanged for more practical-looking variants.

Kia Motors set to enter India

It’s no secret that Kia Motors, a part of the Hyundai Motor Group has been exploring an entry into the Indian market for several years. In fact, it’s surprising that Kia has taken so long to enter such an important market that has long been ripe for the picking. Newbie Kia has the massive advantage of piggybacking on sister brand Hyundai, which is a hugely successful in India, to tap a country forecast to have five million car buyers ever year, by 2020.    Kia’s model line-up which ranges from budget hatchbacks to premium SUVs and sedans would be well suited to the Indian market, especially since many of them share the same underpinnings with popular Hyundai models in the market.
