UPCOMING AUDI A5


The new Audi A5 2011 is expected to mark its debut in the Indian market by the second quarter of next year. It will be the first ever full-size coupe of Audi which will be basically a four-seater and will come blessed with state-of-art designing, styling and technological features. The new Audi A5 would be offered in two versions including an S-line sports package carrying 19-inch alloy wheels with 20-spokes and optional 20-inch 7-twin-spoke wheels. The all new Audi A5 2011 will be locking horns with the likes of BMW 3-series and Nissan 370Z. The car will be brought to the Indian market as a completely built unit (CBU) and is expected to be shelved in the price segment of Rs 35 to 45 lakh.

The makers of Audi A5 were aware of the sentiments attached with the Audi cars while designing the car and thus Audi A5 sticks to some of the vintage features that are a signature of Audi cars. Still, it differs also as it promises to synchronize the intricacies of the modern as well as the vintage style patterns. On the first look the Audi A5 appears to be extremely sporty. From the flat roof to the well defined roofline and expanded bumpers, the Audi A5 is every inch a show stealer.
 Engine & Specifications of Audi A5
Where the previous generations of Audi A5 model had been sporting a 265hp (peak power) 3.2L V6 engine with FSI direct-injection, the new 2011 model of this car would be sporting a 2.0-liter DOHC engine with a turbocharger and FSI direct-injection. The powerful DOHC engine of new Audi A5 will be capable of generating a peak power of 211hp along with a peak torque of 258 lb-ft. The car is expected to be rolled-out in two transmission options including a six-speed manual transmission and a Tiptronic automatic transmission.
The car will be available in two diesel variants and two petrol variants. Thus, the Audi A5 is sure to rule the imagination of the buyers.
 
Performance of Audi A5
Blessed with a slew of performance enhancing features, the Audi A5 proves itself as a powerful performer on the roads. The new generation 2.0L engine of the car offers class-leading acceleration and pick-up. The manual transmission version of new 2011 Audi A5 takes mere 6.4 seconds to break the speed barrier of 100 km/h. On the other hand, the automatic transmission version proves a bit slower with taking 6.7 seconds to reach the speed of 100km/h from stand still position. The all-wheel-drive is expected to be offered as a standard across all variants. The engine has been uniquely placed behind the front-wheel so that the cars handling can be made razor-sharp. In order to improve the driving dynamics a sport-tuned suspension has been provided.
Substantial efforts have also been put into the Audi A5 to achieve fuel efficiency which remains to be one of the major concerns of car makers in India.
Interior, Exterior and Safety of Audi A5
The hard work of Audi A5 designers can be experienced at both exterior and interior fronts of the car. At exterior, the S line variant of A5 model comes featured with 19-inch S line five-Y-spoke wheels in combination with 255/35 summer performance tires. The exterior trim of Audi A5 comes blessed with Audi’s iconic Single-frame grille and unique front and rear bumpers (specially designed for the S line variants) and side valances. From Inside, the car is a treat to watch, thanks to the lucrative aluminum decorative inlays that has been used all across dashboard, center console and doors. Other major attractions of the interior include a 7-inch full-color LCD screen, MMI control logic along with a 40-GB hard drive and an NVIDIA processor. To ensure maximum safety, the company has provided a unique Audi parking system along with a rear view camera with rear ultrasonic parking sensors. These sensors generate an audible warning as soon as the distance of the car from outside objects becomes unsafe.
