New car discounts this month.

Buying a new car is always an exciting prospect, and with the start of a new month there are a host of new and exciting discounts on offer at dealerships across the country. But before you walk into a dealership, here's a look at the best deals available on hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and MPVs in the market right now. Of course, remember to bargain hard for the best discounts.
Hatchbacks

Maruti WagonR Stingray
The WagonR Stingray is a stylish alterative to the practical WagonR hatchback, and comes with a longer feature list. It is available with a five-speed manual gearbox and an AMT. Maruti Suzuki is offering discounts of up to Rs 70,000 across all variants of this car.

Fiat Avventura
The Avventura caters to those who aspire to own an SUV while enjoying the practicality of a hatchback. Based on the Punto Evo, it is available with a ground clearance of 205mm, powered by the same petrol and diesel engines, and is also offered in the Abarth trim, with a turbocharged petrol motor. The Fiat is offering discounts up to Rs 65,000 on the Avventura.

Hyundai Grand i10
Hyundai’s practical Grand i10 has been a popular choice in its segment. With the arrival of the Tiago, the Korean carmaker is offering up to Rs 45,000 off on select variants of the Grand i10. This car is available with a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.1.-litre diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the former is available with an automatic transmission as well.

Volkswagen Polo
The Polo is being offered with discounts of up to Rs 35,000 at select dealerships. Volkswagen’s premium hatchback is available with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The German manufacturer has also added the GT line offering more power and an automatic dual-clutch transmission with the TSI variant.

SUVs/MPVs

BMW X5
A direct rival to the Mercedes GLE and GLS, the BMW X5 with a 3.0-litre diesel is a fun-to-drive SUV that comes in a seven-seat configuration. BMW is offering a discount of close to Rs 5.5 lakh on this SUV.

Renault Duster MT
Renault’s once game-changing Duster has begun facing the heat from its Korean and Japanese rivals. This car was recently updated and is offered with both a petrol and diesel engine; the latter is available in two states of tune (85hp and 110hp). The French manufacturer is offering up to Rs 70,000 off on the variants with a manual transmission. Sadly, the AMT variant doesn’t get discounts as of now.

Sedans.

Mercedes-Benz C 200
The petrol version of the C-class is available with a mouth-watering discount of up to Rs 4 lakh (including insurance). Discounts will vary across cities. This baby S-class goes head-to-head against the Audi A4, BMW 3-series and Jaguar XE.

Skoda Rapid
Skoda’s competent entry-level sedan has been around for a while now. As a part of a stock clearing exercise to make way for the updated model scheduled to hit showrooms in the coming months, the Czech carmaker is offering up to Rs 1.10 lakh discount on the Rapid.

Honda Amaze (pre-facelift)
Honda gave the Amaze a mid-life makeover recently. However, stocks of the pre-facelift version are still available with dealers which are being offered with a discount of around Rs 1 lakh, based on availability.

Nissan Sunny
The Nissan Sunny’s generous rear legroom has been one of its key strengths. However, neither its facelift nor its fuel-efficient diesel engine was enough to get it moving off the showroom floors. Its dwindling dealer network only worsened things for this sedan. Currently, the Sunny is available at a discount of Rs 90,000.

Volkswagen Vento
The Vento was given a makeover recently and it now looks like its expensive elder sibling, the Passat. This updated car also comes with additional equipment to match its direct rivals – City and Ciaz. It is available at a discount of Rs 75,000 in certain regions.

Maruti Ciaz
Maruti’s premium sedan has been giving the segment-leading Honda City sleepless nights ever since its launch in the country. Maruti has sweetened the deal by offering with discounts of up to Rs 45,000 across select variants on the Ciaz. The sporty RS variant doesn’t get any discounts.
